ISLAMIC, Ottoman Empire. 'Abd al-Hamid II, AH 1293-1327 / AD 1876-1909. Medal AH 1300 = AD 1883 (Silvered bronze, 37 mm, 29.66 g, 12 h), 'Kücük Imtiyaz'. Grand Medal of Distinction. Tughra within sun's rays above elaborate arms with ornate cartouche at centre; foliate decorations and orders below. Rev. Cartouche with inscriptions; below, blank banner and ornate designs, date in exergue. Doğan 5. Pere 1112. With suspension loop, and original ribbon with a silver bar supported by crossed sabres and inscribed with the date AH 1322. Virtually as struck.
